Our Professional Sod Installation Process

Providing Everything You Need

Site Preparation and Assessment

Before beginning any work, we conduct an evaluation of the designated area to confirm the scope agreed upon with you. This includes measuring the space, identifying any potential challenges such as uneven terrain and sunlight coverage, and discussing your specific preferences. Our goal is to prepare a solid foundation that promotes healthy root establishment and long-term growth.

 Removal of Existing Vegetation

Using a specialized sod cutter, we slice through the existing grass, weeds, and root systems across the entire area, being careful not to damage your sprinkler heads which will be marked beforehand. This machine chops up the existing lawn and helps aerate the soil. Following this, our team carefully removes and disposes of the old turf and debris, clearing the site to prevent competition for nutrients and water from unwanted plants and providing the ideal environment for your new sod.

Soil Grading and Leveling

With the area cleared, we perform manual grading to create a smooth, even surface. This step involves raking and shaping the soil to eliminate high spots and fills in holes. Hand grading allows for precise adjustments, ensuring the soil is optimally prepared to support the new sod and reduce the risk of pooling water or uneven settling.

Sod Installation

We source premium-quality sod from trusted suppliers, selected for its compatibility with your local climate and soil conditions. Our technicians lay the sod, so each piece is carefully butted together and trimmed as needed to fit the contours of your landscape, ensuring full coverage and a polished appearance.

Final Rolling and Finishing

To secure the sod firmly to the soil and eliminate air pockets, we use a professional roller to gently press the turf into place. This critical step enhances root-to-soil contact, encouraging rapid establishment and reducing the likelihood of drying out. After rolling, we offer detailed aftercare instructions to help your new lawn thrive.

Our process is efficient, typically completed in one day for most residential projects, and is backed by our commitment to customer satisfaction. By following these steps, we try to help ensure your new sod not only looks beautiful from day one but also develops into a resilient, healthy lawn.
